Dear PCA families, staff, alumni, and friends,
Prayer News for the Hearing on PCA’s Zoning at 245 Renfrew
“In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing:” (Ezra 1:1)
This is a very unusual announcement of a Persian king that allowed the Israelites (who were exiled into his land years ago) to go back to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple for their God. This happened because God moved the heart of king Cyrus.
This miracle which happened 2,500 years ago is happening in PCA today. Our landlord is in commercial leasing business and is not a Christian. Yet, he is committed to putting a school at the Renfrew site and is taking up the responsibility of defending the zoning application on our behalf.
Our Almighty God is the sovereign Lord who is the King of kings, the real Judge of the hearing on our zoning at Renfrew. Please pray for the following:

- The Lord presides over the hearing, and the hearing process is conducted in a just and fair manner.
- The presiding Ontario Municipal Board member who hears the case will focus on the relevant issues, and has the discernment to rule out irrelevant issues brought up by the appellant.
- The Markham Official Plan which allows for day care and private school use will be upheld, and ultimately PCA’s zoning by-law will be finalized.
- The various issues raised by Pinedale (traffic, parking, noise, planning, and approval process) can be defended successfully.
