Dear parents,

Welcome back and praise the Lord for our new home. A big thank you to the contractor, Berkim Construction Inc., which has been working long hours to renovate the place to a functional state in just little over 2 months time. Also thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the Board Members, teachers and staff, and investors of the 245 Renfrew Corp. Despite the one week delay, we must say that it is only by God’s grace that this can be achieved.  For Jesus said, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." Luke 18:27.

While we are settling in our new home, there are already many exciting things brewing. On Oct 21, The Toronto Argonauts (our Toronto football team) will be hosting a one day tournament for ACSI Christian schools and PCA will be participating in this event.  We will be sending a grade 7 & 8 team to represent PCA.  It's a wonderful opportunity because the students will get to play on the field of The Rogers Centre and have devotional times with the Argos.  Tickets are $27 for adult and $15 for youth. To show support for this unique event, please purchase your tickets from the high school office before they run out. Please make cheque payable to PCA. For more information, you can contact Miss Ng at dng(at) pca (dot) ca.

Also, this year marks the 40th anniversary of PCA. Remember to mark your calendar. Oct 29 will be the Gala dinner, and Oct 30th will be the ribbon ceremony.  Please visit www.pca.ca/40 for Gala ticket purchases and more information.

With more being planned this year, the Parent Advisory Committee needs your help. If you feel like God is calling you and have positive values about Christian education, you are invited to join us this year to serve the Lord. The PAC has been active in the following areas:
  • facilitate Friday prayer meetings and prayer warrior network;
  • co-ordinate in-house hot meal program;
  • host Teachers Appreciation Luncheons/Dinner;
  • organize carnivals, parenting seminars, fund raising activities and used books and uniform sales;
  • offer PAC awards and scholarships;
  • and act as communication channels between school and parents via newsletter, surveys, and bulletin board etc.
Meetings are usually once a month in the evenings and you can pick and choose the area you want to serve. Also, if you want to join the prayer warrior network, please don’t hesitate to contact us at pac (at) pca (dot) ca. We will email you our regular prayer updates so that you can pray for the school at your convenient time and location.

Finally as a reminder to the traffic flow in the morning. Please try to observe the “Drop and Ride” rule listed on the Traffic Management handout distributed on Sept 9. The inside lane (closer to the building), is for cars queuing for morning drop-off and afternoon pick up.  The outside lane is for passing.  DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR IF YOU ARE NOT STAYING.  Please go slow and observe the pedestrian crossing zone. Also, exercise extra caution around the intersection of Renfrew and Hooper, there can be students/pedestrians walking on the street as there is no side walk. Remember, safety always come first.
