Dear PCA families, staff, and students,

2010-2011 School Year Arrangements

The Board of Peoples Christian Academy (PCA) Inc. has worked diligently over the past eighteen months to secure premises and to a permanent home given by God. Time is required to await both the successful confirmation of zoning approval from the Ontario Municipal Board and time to complete the financing. PCA submits to God’s timing, while acknowledging PCA’s commitment to follow His will and direction to relocate the ministry.

To continue operations as PCA waits on God’s timing for its permanent home, the PCA Board sought the support of the Peoples Ministries Inc. (PMI) Board in a renewal of the Premises License Agreement for the academic year 2010 to 2011. PCA recognizes PMI’s need for additional space for ministry purposes and to provide accommodation for staff who are currently operating from rented premises.

We have now developed, with the support of PMI, a workable solution for our space needs with respect to the academic year of 2010 to 2011. This short term plan will bridge the gap as PCA transitions to its future home. On May 5, 2010, we reached a Memorandum of Understanding with PMI for the 2010-2011 School Year:
  • PCA will retain the use of all current High School facilities, Wilfred Annex and portable #3 and portable #4 until July 18, 2011
  • PCA will relinquish the use of all facilities currently occupied by the Elementary School except portable #3 and portable #4 and vacate them before July 19, 2010 (PLEASE SEE POINT NUMBER 1 and 2 BELOW FOR FURTHER DETAILS REGARDING JK-Grades 6)
  • PCA will remove portable #1, portable #2 and all playground equipment and fencing on or before August 30, 2010
  • The new Premises License Agreement will have similar financial terms as compared to previous ones
PCA believes the viability and strength of the school does not lie in its facilities but in its faithfulness to its foundational principles as a Biblically based institution of learning.

For the 2010/2011 school year we will operate from two separate campuses as summarized below:
  1. Grades 4 - 12 will be accommodated at the existing site, 374 Sheppard Avenue. Grades 4 - 6 will occupy the Wilfred Annex and Grades 7 - 12 will occupy the existing High School wing.
